After the successful launch in January, we have been very busy here at the Junior Doctor Network (JDN).
This year’s Junior Doctor Teaching Programme is just around the corner, our brilliant team have organised a fascinating programme with diverse topics from the role of food in pain management to movement and mental health. Starting on Tuesday the 3rd May and continuing every Tuesday for the next 11 weeks, if you or someone you know wants to learn about lifestyle medicine and innovative and novel ways to better your patients’ health for FREE! Then please sign up here.
There are exciting developments form the Food Environment team, we are in the initial stages of a quality improvement project to improve the food environment within hospitals and have teamed up with Grubby and Field Doctor to offer nutritious meals to the doctor’s mess. If any doctor mess committee members want more information on this then please email – [email protected].
Our Newsletter lead, Dr Jess Laidlaw, has penned some excellent pieces on developing healthy weight conversations with patients and their families, giving practical advice and how to overcome some of the difficulties faced in these conversations. These are well worth a read for anyone and can be found on previous versions of this newsletter.
With plenty more going on behind the scenes, we are building the JDN more and more all the time, if you would like to get involved then please don’t hesitate to email Emma: [email protected].
