Our Team

During his medical studies at Bristol university, Iain co-founded Nutritank, having found that nutrition and lifestyle medicine education, within the medical curricula, was not adequate to combat the rising level of lifestyle-related chronic disease. Nutritank now has 25 medical student-led Nutritank branches across the U.K, where students coordinate, organise and execute educational workshops within this space.
Iain is also a regular speaker at medical innovation conferences and has raised the issue on multiple major media publications, such as BBC Radio 4s’, “The Food Programme”, BBC News online and cooking alongside Jamie Oliver on his show “Jamie and Jimmys Friday Night Feast” (December 28th 2018).
Following the show, Iain and his team helped Jamie's campaign team to organise the “#nutrition4medics” media campaign. This was successful in adding a clause to the NHS Long Term Plan introducing a commitment to increase nutrition education for medical professionals.
Iain has recently graduated as a foundation year one doctor, and volunteered to enter the NHS early to help out during the COVID-19 pandemic. He currently lives in Brighton.

She started her role with Nutritank in February 2022. Alongside other coordinators, she is the first point of contact for our student branches where she will be supporting them with freshers events, helping them with access to guest speakers and to recognise the incredible work they have done.
Her motivation behind this role and the mission of Nutritank, is that she enjoys student-facing roles and helping them to succeed in whatever it is that they need. She also has a huge interest in mental health and wellbeing and the relationship with food and lifestyle.
In her free time she loves to go to dance classes, teach dance, go to the gym and Netflix her way through many series!

Rachel joined Nutritank as Lead Dietitian in March 2021 to help promote evidence based nutrition for medics and support the wider team with this mission. She believes that increased nutrition training for Doctors and medical students will not only enhance the care provided to their patients but also improve collaborations with dietitians and registered nutritionists. Her role includes supporting the social media team with nutrition content, writing articles, creating the fortnightly newsletter and providing quality assurance with all Nutritank projects and collaborations.
In her free time you will often find Rachel trail running - preferably running up some hills, cycling or baking cakes.

This is his second year as a co-lead of the Junior Doctor Network alongside Dr Emma Astaire who set up the JDN last year and have been involved in initiating several projects including research on the food environment in hospitals and the annual junior doctor teaching programme.
Nutrition and lifestyle medicine has always been an area of interest for Charlie, with malnutrition being the topics for both his undergraduate BSc and MSc dissertations. However, it was when he starting postgraduate medicine and working on the wards that the vital role nutrition and lifestyle play in the prevention and treatment of multiple illnesses became apparent. Five years ago, at Bristol University, he set up a nutrition teaching session for medical students, this was when I learnt about the amazing work Nutritank had been doing to improve and widen nutrition and lifestyle medicine education. Working in the community, he acknowledges the difficulties long term conditions have on patients and the opportunities we have with lifestyle medicine to help them.
Out of work he is generally playing, watching or talking about football, listening to some terrible 00s indie or losing at a pub quiz.

The Farm Project educates healthcare students on the connection between climate education, agriculture, food systems and nature connection, and how these elements relate to mental wellbeing. This role involves proof reading and writing, creating social media content, networking and event planning.
She is deeply passionate about the importance of all the elements of lifestyle medicine as a results of her own lived experiences and she believes that it is a key tool through which we can connect with others and support our own wellbeing. In her free time she enjoys listening to music or podcasts and curling up to read, volunteering at her local community gardens or getting out in nature and exploring.

She has been working for Nutritank for nearly two months now and her role is to provide behind the scenes support! She is responsible for HR, accounts and customer service.
Nutritank’s values very closely matches those of her own. She is very passionate about well-being and improving mental health.
In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her horse and dogs, travelling and discovering new cultures and places. She is a petrol head and enjoys spending time around cars, especially american classics!

She deeply resonates with Nutritank's mission since and believes that a holistic approach to health is fundamental to optimal well-being.
She is also highly passionate about fitness and is a qualified yoga teacher, so in her free time you'll probably find her walking in nature or teaching yoga!
